In typography, kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font, usually to achieve a visually pleasing result. My favorite way to use a variegated yarn is a garter stripe with a solid or semi-solid colorway. The way the solid breaks up the pooling of the variegated yarn is pleasing to my eye, so the term “kerning” feels very apropos here. Cowls are my go-to cool weather garment, but I decided to change it up a bit with this design by making an infinity scarf that can be worn
as a long cowl to make it feel more like a scarf around your neck, or doubled to wear closer to the skin, like a cowl, in colder weather.
