Sir Cyrus Stirling
Sir Cyrus Stirling was a self-made man, and he made sure everyone around him knew it. Editor of the Sheeppunk Gazette and owner of multiple…less reputable…establishments throughout the city of Sheepchester, Sir Cyrus let everyone know how he pulled himself out of the slums and acquired his aristocratic status. He used his position at the Sheeppunk Gazette to manipulate the papers, and therefore the local gossip, to expand his influence, and wealth, even more.
It was through the Gazette that he first learned about the legend of the lost fortune of Ovine. He traced the abandoned colony’s ancestry through hundreds of years and many families, until he was absolutely certain the little Bicker family was the current owner of the sacred parchment that would lead him to this great fortune. And, as luck would have it, Stephen and Mary Bicker were employees on the production line in one of his factories. So it was all too easy to detain them after work one day and use his most convincing interrogators to extract the location of this hidden atlas. What he didn’t know, was that Stephen and Mary would stop at nothing to protect their son, Thaddeus, and Sir Cyrus was left with no information, and a very scrappy young boy in his way.
Desperate, he dispatched two men to the Bicker residence to find the map at all costs. When the goons returned empty handed, Sir Cyrus went for a walk to clear his head. And it was down by the river that he saw Lady Penny Witherbottom being escorted by a rather shabby looking boy, heading towards Rossmore Estates. And he just knew that this boy was Thaddeus Bicker, the parchment was hidden in that old leather bag he held, and, furthermore, that those nettlesome Witherbottoms were not going keep him from one more thing he wanted.
