Pride - Slytherin (HP Yarn Club June 2017)

Slytherin corresponds roughly with the element of water, with serpents being commonly associated with the sea and lochs in western European mythology. The colors also correspond with waters around lakes and lochs often being green, and silver being often associated with grey rain water.

Students belonging to this house are ambitious, shrewd, cunning, strong leaders, and achievement-oriented. They also have highly developed senses of self-preservation.
Oh Slytherin, how you get mistreated in both the movies and books! So what if you align yourself with evil all the time, right? But alas, I did marry one, so apparently I have a soft spot for the cunning.

I chose this month’s inspiration picture because I liked the depth of the green - how it’s not *just* an emerald green and grey representation, but has the light yellowish-green as well. Translated onto yarn, there’s also some yellow and blue bits. I think it fits because it shows the many layers to Slytherins that I really believe there are!
Pride is the yarn we turn to when the occasion calls for something extra special. With just a hint of stellina, Pride works up into pieces with understated sparkle -- perfect for holidays but not over the top for everyday wear. A glittering shawl, sparkly, skinny stripes on a sweater? Even your toes can twinkle -- with 20% nylon, Pride is hard-wearing enough for socks.
