Gluttony Sock - The Chose One (HP Yarn Club December 2017)

Harry Potter, aka The Boy Who Lived, aka The Chosen One, was orphaned at the age of one. Professor Albus Dumbledore (with the help of Hagrid), brought Harry to live with his aunt and uncle until the age of 11, when he could attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Dumbledore serves as a father figure to Harry while he is a student there, popping up in opportune times to impart some wisdom on Harry as he struggles to learn about his fate in this new, magical world.

According to J.K. Rowling, it's actually both Hagrid and Dumbledore whom she believes represented the father figure Harry was searching for. These two men, both hugely important to Harry, represent two sides of the ideal father figure he seeks; the former is warm, practical and wild, the latter impressive, intellectual, and somewhat detached.

I love this depiction of Dumbledore holding Harry as a baby. It shows, to me, the care and love he held for Harry. I focused on the deep teal and blue in the photo, with a touch of purple.

This yarn starts with eight strands of a sturdy blend of smooth merino wool and nylon (for socks that can stand up to being walked on!). The numerous plies and high twist creates a dense yarn that is durable and renders your stitches in high definition. A versatile fingering weight, Gluttony is a perfect choice for decadently cabled garments and accessories. Available in all of our solid, semi-solid, and variegated colorways.
