Gryffindor (HP Yarn Club August 2017)
Gryffindor corresponds roughly to the element of fire, and for that reason that the colours scarlet and gold were chosen to represent the House. The color of fire corresponds to that of a lion as well, with scarlet representing the mane and tail and gold representing the coat.
The Gryffindor house emphasises the traits of courage as well as "daring, nerve, and chivalry," so its members are generally considered brave, though sometimes reckless They can also be short-tempered.
Gryffindor is always the most recognized in the Harry Potter world, do to its prominant place in the stories. I wanted to do something slightly different than just gold and red, and also wanted to make sure this colorway wasn’t too close to the Phoenix one I did a while back. I found this artwork and loved the lighter yellow that was added in to the mix. I feel like it created some depth to an otherwise classic school/sports team color combination.
